Visualiser Advantage and Use

The advantage of a visualiser is that unlike an OHP (over head projector) you don’t need a plastic sheet to get the projection of a document or a paper on a flat surface. The biggest advantage is that, you can easily project 3 dimensional images (likes stones, Jewellery, microorganism, insects, slides etc) which are not at all possible with any other electronic equipment. A visualiser can capture text or image up to a great detail and that's why it has started being used extensively in the publishing industry to take photographs of the branded products for the purpose of advertisement. Through a visualiser you can view negatives of a photo as positives. This is helpful for doctors, medical students and scientist who may need developed photos during there course of work in a clinic, hospital or a science lab. There is no need to buy expensive and giant photocopy machine, as visualiser is much better in photocopying. Also there is no need to buy a scanner, as a visualiser can do the job of a scanner also. Thus it is widely used not only in schools but also in libraries, museums, board rooms etc. New application of visualisers is in the field of ‘forensic science’ as forensic expert can examine an evidence without a need to touch them physically.

What is Visualiser

It is a type of video camera that can save and display any type of 3d object on a projection screen. It is also known as document camera because it can save and display contents of any document like book, printed page, postage stamps, road or tourist maps etc. It can also capture moving images (more commonly known as videos). Teachers use visualisers in science labs to show the contents of a slide to the whole class. It is an electronic imaging tool which can display three dimensional objects through a projector.
